Outlook Web Access starts Windows Installer
when you click the New Message icon
Some Windows users have reported an error when
they first use the new OWA. When you attempt to 'Reply to' or
compose a new mail message, the Windows installer for Microsoft
Office 2000 may start and you may receive the following message: (Please
wait while Windows configures Microsoft Office 2000. Gathering
required information... This behavior only occurs on a computer that
has Microsoft Office 2000 or Microsoft Outlook 2000 installed.)
Interaction between Exchange 2003 OWA multimedia extensions and
Office 2000 HTML Source Edit causes this behavior.
To resolve this issue,
Click here to download the file and save it to your desktop.
Find the file on your desktop named 'htmlsourceedit.exe' and double
click on it. This will launch the application. The first screen that
you will see is below, you simply have to click 'Begin' and the
installation will start.

You will then see a screen similar to the one
below. You need to click 'Yes All'. This is extremely
important and the program will not work if this is not clicked.

Some files will then be copied to your computer. A
progress bar will show you the status of the install. Once competed
you will see the image below. You must click on 'Yes" to reboot the
computer. OWA will now work without a problem. If you have any
fiurther questions or comments please direct them to
